Join The Club
The Club is currently comprised of five teams: Elementary, Middle School, High School Jr Varsity, High School Varsity, and Girls' High School Varsity. Per league rules, all teams except Girls' Varsity allow both girls and boys.
If you are interested in joining the club, please contact our registrar, Pam Orr. Pam can be reached at orrpl@verizon.net.
The first step is to sign your child up at USAHockey.com. Additional instructions and forms for registration can be found by clicking on the Forms button, at left.
Fees for the 2007-2008 season are:
Elementary - $800
Middle School- $1000
High School - $1250
Any family with more than one hockey player will pay the highest full fee for the first player and receive a $50 discount off the fee for each additional player in that family. Additional costs include a fundraiser event (e.g., raffle tickets) and optional team and individual photos taken by a professional photographer.
Payments and forms should be mailed to:
Strath Haven Ice Hockey
P.O. Box 82
Wallingford, PA 19086
Parents and prospective team members are encouraged to ask team representives about used equipment prior to buying new items. Be sure to check with the other teams, too, because older players often have unused sticks, pads, and skates accumulating dust in their garages. Christina Roberts keeps a listing (view PDF version) of such items, so contact her for an update file to browse: wasahubba@comcast.net. Used equipment can also be found for sale on www.ebay.com and www.craigslist.org. You can use the latter web site to post "looking to buy" items. Modell's, C & M Sports, and Dick's (see listings) carry hockey supplies, but there are more specialized stores if you have time to travel a bit (see Google map listings). The Hockey Shed in Havertown can custom fit your skates (and is close to lots of places to eat, by the way).
Each year, The Club sponsors a "learn the game" clinic and invites students from the Wallinford-Swarthmore School District to sign up. The flyer for the 2008 clinics is available as a PDF. If you're interested, but don't have the needed equipment, please ask us about borrowing equipment.
